Ministry of the Month
Community Music School
CMS employs 25 professional teachers who provide private lessons and group classes annually to over 300 students of all ages.
CMS was founded in 1981 by Martha Maletz, longtime member of St. Timothy Church. It began with 7 students enrolled in piano and voice. Today it provides private and group lessons to over 200 students in piano, strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion and voice. Financial aid is provided for 55% of students under the age of 18.
Sunday Church School
The mission of the Sunday Church School is to teach children, youth, and their families about Jesus Christ and to keep Jesus central in daily living and in reaching out to others.
Younger children through elementary school age engage in age-appropriate lessons and activities related to the Sunday lectionary readings. Junior high and high school youth follow a Bible survey course that invites them to apply the Scriptures to their daily lives. One Sunday a month we go to a senior living facility and worship and interact with the residents to share God’s love with kindness and respect. Parents of the youth are often involved in these activities
There is something for everyone, so please join us as we seek to learn, ponder faith and life, and grow in spirit. Classes meet on the lower level of our building.
St. Timothy’s Adult Forum meets in the lounge on the upper level of our building. Everyone is invited to take part in the learning and conversation on various themes relating to our faith.

Daybreak
Lehigh Conference of Churches Daybreak is an accepting place for anyone in need of support, advocacy, and self-empowerment. Three meals a day, lockers, showers, clothing, access to computers, and trained case workers are available to all who attend.
Once a month the team from St. Timothy prepares a hearty dinner for 100 people. This meal is then served at 4 pm by the Daybreak staff. It is truly a heartwarming experience to help so many people in need.

CROP Walk
St. Timothy Church has been the kick-off spot for the Allentown CROP Walk for more than 45 years. This event raises funds for Church World Service and its work of supporting communities and people in difficult circumstances. A portion of funds raised go locally to organizations that feed the poor. Members of St. Timothy are significantly involved in hosting and walking. If you would like to participate in or learn more about the CROP Walk, please click the link below.
Food Bank
The Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank is Allentown’s only daily food bank, assisting families in need from Monday through Friday. A Client Choice Pantry allows clients to select their own food instead of receiving a prepacked or standard bag of groceries. When there is a 5th Wednesday in the month our volunteers interact with the clients as they navigate the pantry. If you would like to help at the food bank, please click the link below.
Lehigh Mission District Ingathering
Each Christmas season the members of St. Timothy gather Christmas gifts for the residents at Good Shepherd in Bethlehem. The members also purchase baby items (new clothes, bottles, diapers, blankets) to be given to new moms in need in Allentown. Additionally, funds are raised which are distributed to a variety of agencies in the Lehigh Valley.

(Discovery, Devotion, Discipleship)
3D is a small group ministry for women on a faith journey. The group gathers eight times a year. Participants attend in person or by zoom to share prayer, scripture reflection and relational Bible study. The group offers hybrid sessions so ladies outside the area can participate. Much of our study material is from WELCA Gather Magazine. Currently there are ten active participants in 3D women’s small group. We welcome women of all ages to join us. Neighborhood House
A safe and secure place of welcome for our unhoused neighbors to refresh, restore, and settle on
Neighborhood House (an ACM program) provides the unhoused community with breakfast and lunch and a safe place to get out of the cold or heat on Sunday mornings. It is conveniently located central to other outreach support resources for the unhouse community in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Volunteers known as “hosts” supply, prepare, and share gifts of a hot breakfast and a bag lunch. Our goal is to serve the unhoused and build community among Allentown congregations, other community groups, and individuals. Hosting opportunities are always available.
Shellie Fritchman serves as the Neighborhood House Coordinator, managing supplies/food, etc., and working alongside hosts and neighbors. For more information on how you or your congregation can volunteer or to donate to Neighborhood House, please contact her below. We hope you will join in serving the unhoused community of Allentown through Neighborhood House.
