Introductory
Story
A man who was a great lover of animals was
traveling along a highway when he spotted an
unusual lump of fur moving along the shoulder of the road. It
was a small dog which a car had
struck. The dog tried to get up but then collapsed along the roadside.
The fellow pulled his
car over, and examined the dog. It wasn’t bleeding profusely
and didn’t appear to be seriously
injured. “More stunned than hurt,” he thought to himself.
So he picked up the dog, put him
in the car, and hurried home.
In the garage, the man cleaned up the animal,
examined it all over and treated a nasty gash on
its shoulder. As the man stepped away from the dog to get it some
water and food, the dog
sprang to its feet and took off out of the garage.
“WELL,” smiled the man to himself,
“I guess that one was just an ungrateful mutt.”
He thought no more about the incident until
the next evening when he heard scratching at the
door. When he opened it, there was the dog sitting on the front
porch. And beside him,
another injured dog.
God’s Story
“The next day Jesus decided to go to
Galilee. And he found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”
Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip
found Nathanael, and
said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the law
and also the prophets wrote,
Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” Nathanael said to
him, “Can anything good come out
of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and See.”

1:43-46
